​WHO WE ARE

     A Founder's Story

   

    It all started back in 2008 when the Mittals visited India to see his family and many relatives. It was a joyous occasion

​

for both Ajay and his family since they haven't seen one another for a number of years. But something always caught his



eye as he traveled from place to place on India's congested roads, thousands of beggars filled the streets hitting car

​

windows, almost demanding money from you. The sad fact that indians know all too well is that these beggars on the

​

street take all their earning for the day and give it to the the varies gangs that patrol the many streets in India's most

​

populous cities. Since the beggar are weak and uneducated they are easy bait for the varies gangs to manipulate for

​

their own personal gain. You many be asking, "Why doesn't the government just step in and stop this from happening?",



and to answer that question we have to go a little in depth about India's government, political structure, and population.

India is the world's biggest democracy with an approximate population of 1,241,491,960​, 32.7% of that or ​405,967,870



people live below the international poverty line*. UNICEF reports that one in three children under the age of five are

​

malnourished, 42% of the nations children are underweight, while 58% of children under five surveyed stunted. So you

​

can see that with the large number of people in such a bad situation that a well fare system seemed unrealistic and quite

​

frankly impossible. Aside from these frightening statistics there is also great political corruption when it comes to some of

​

India's most high profiled politicians which also adds to the problem; this along with several other reasons is why Ajay

​

decided to create the Uknighted Relief Project. The Uknighted Relief Project is an organization created by a high school

​

student for high school students who wish to make a big impact to the world as we know it. Our founder is 15 year old Ajay

​

Mittal, currently a sophomore at Vanguard High School Ocala, Florida, although he is young do not underestimate this

​

young mans determination to change the world. He had begun work on this organization since the summer of 2008 and

​

now has created a club and a website founded on the 10th of July, 2012. Since then Ajay has successful joined forces with

​

some of the world's most respected and thought after charities to make a real difference in this world.
